U.S. Soccer Coaching Pathway Entry Point and Waiver Application
The minimum age requirement for A, B, and C courses is 18.
The minimum age requirement for the Grassroots courses is 16.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Course Pathways
- Entry into any US Soccer Coaching course requires the completion of the online Intro Module (available on the DCC)
- Waiver – none
- Entry to the D course requires an E license or the Grassroots in-person 11v11 license as well as any one of the following in-person Grassroots Licenses; 4v4, 7v7, or 9v9. In addition, the candidate must also have completed one of the Grassroots online courses.

- Entry to the C course requires a D license held for a minimum of twelve (12) months.
- Minimum pre-requisites: UEFA B License or higher (or similar) -OR-
- Waiver – Applicant has three (3) years of coaching experience, at any level, AND three-(3) years of playing experience with a Senior National Team and/or three-(3) years of playing experience on a FIFA recognized “1st Division” professional team. Official proof of playing and coaching experience must be provided via letterhead from the affiliated clubs, leagues, or organizations.
- Entry to the B course requires a C license held for a minimum of twelve (12) months.
- Minimum pre-requisites: UEFA B License or higher (or similar) -OR-
- Waiver – Applicant has five (5) years of coaching experience, at any level, AND five-(5) years playing experience with a Senior National Team and/or five-(5) years of playing experience on a FIFA recognized “1st Division” professional team. Official proof of playing and coaching experience must be provided via letterhead from the affiliated clubs, leagues, or organizations.
- Entry to the A (Youth) course requires a B license held for a minimum of six (6) months.

- Entry to the A (Senior) course requires a B license held for a minimum of six (6) months.
